Welcome to
Awaiting Angels Volunteer Program
Angeles que
Aguardan in Spanish
Awaiting Angels is a volunteer program run by Voluntarios
sin Fronteras Peru (VSF PERU).
VSF PERU is a local non-governmental,
non-for-profit, non-religious, non political organization
registered at the Peruvian National Superintendence Office of
Public Records which supports the well-being and human growth of
children and families living in depressed areas of Peru. Through voluntary
service and the nurturing of good values, volunteers from Peru
and the world give local children and people in need a chance to
realize their true potential.
Awaiting Angels Volunteer Program aims to offer cross-cultural learning
opportunities to volunteers from abroad and helps people
involved develop the knowledge, skills
and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful
world.
Awaiting Angels organizes placements and programs for
international volunteers to get involved in public orphanages, street kids
help centers, health care clinics, public schools, communal
organizations.
These projects are managed by organizations registered in Peru,
most of them are public and lack of enough funding. Awaiting
Angels coordinators have evaluated the projects to check on their suitability
and sustainability.
Also
Awaiting Angels has designed programs and activities to
provide volunteers with rewarding and inspirational service
experiences, as well as to provide the children in the projects
with the much needed love and attention that they deserve.
Awaiting Angels
volunteer program is different from the majority of other
programs in that Awaiting Angels charges to volunteers a small
administrative fee to fund our programs and a just amount
to cover food and family like accommodation.
Awaiting Angels is self sustaining, we have a small but
effective staff and do not rely on government or institutional
support.
We invite our
volunteers to collect from hometown educational materials, used
toys, used clothes, medicines or money to give directly to the
local people or to the community project. We act as facilitators but never as
intermediary receptors.
