Volunteeringing in the Amazon

About Us

Registered in Trujillo (Peru) in 2002 as a Not-for-profit Organization Awaiting Angels believes that international volunteering promotes cross-cultural learning that helps create global awareness, understanding between cultures and provides an opportunity for positive change.

Volunteers teach in public schools, provide disaster
relief support for Peruvian families, build homes for impoverished people, provide vocational training and programs for street kids and work in co-operation with local organizations to distribute aid and improve the quality of life in Peru.

About Awaiting Angels Program

We provide nurturing care and educational programs based upon the universal concepts of children rights stated by the UNICEF.

Awaiting Angels Program seeks to improve the quality of life for

families and communities from disadvantaged backgrounds.

We provide help to established Peruvian institutions through our volunteer outreach programs.

Awaiting Angels offers volunteer opportunities in 11 Peruvian locations: Huancayo, Cusco, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Sacred Valley, Lima, Pisco, Cajamarca, Arequipa, Iquitos and Puno.

Our values and attributes

Awaiting Angels enables people to act as responsible global citizens working for peace and understanding in a diverse world. It acknowledges that peace is a dynamic concept threatened by injustice, inequity and intolerance. Awaiting Angels seeks to affirm faith in the dignity and worth of every human being and of all nations and cultures.

We encourage respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms without distinction of any kind, such as race, sex, language, religion or social status.

Aims

*With our volunteer programs we aim to give love, care and education to Peruvian children as well as help them to improve their quality of life and to serve as agents of change in our society.
*To provide short term volunteer opportunities on a low cost to international people through a fast and easy application process.

*To provide the volunteers with the opportunity to serve close to our communities in a developing country while improving their Spanish language ability.
*To implement the international rights related to child development.
*To improve the quality of education in deprived areas of Peru.
*To explore the use of information and communication technologies for social development.

*To provide volunteers the opportunity to learn our culture through cultural exchange.

*Work side-by-side with local people, connect with others from around the world and have time for personal adventures.
