Why pay to volunteer?
Most people are surprised to hear that they would have to pay to volunteer abroad. What they often do not realize is that there are significant administrative costs involved to arrange a worthwhile volunteer placement. Awaiting Angels is not supported by any government funding and runs its programs entirely from the fee that volunteers pay to take part in the volunteer programs. Volunteering involves incurring of many costs such as food, accommodation, communications, in country support, transfers, project selection and development, etc. The program fee charged by us, goes into providing you all these services.

Where do program fees go?
We are continually working hard to provide the best service possible and keep our fees low. The chart below describes how our program fees are allocated.
What's included in the program fee?
Volunteering Program: High quality volunteer program in Peruvian grassroots organizations.
Home-stay accommodation: Volunteers will stay with a host family in a single or shared room (depending on availability).
Three meals a day : The host family provides three daily Peruvianl meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Monday to Saturday.
Pick up: With Lima city exception pick up from the bus terminal or the airport is included.

Support of local coordinator: From the very beginning to the end of the project, Awaiting Angels coordinator will help volunteers by supporting them and regularly visiting them.
Information Packet: Awaiting Angels offers detailed information on issues that will concern volunteers, such as health, safety, and cultural shock.
Orientation: Upon arrival in your location, participants are met at the airport or bus station and taken to the home of their host family. There you will receive an orientation that will familiarize you with the local area, the Peruvian culture, and your program.

What is not included in the program fee?
VERY IMPORTANT
Teaching materials, medical equipments, etc. must be collected and carried by volunteers from their home countries. Our coordinators will provide detailed information about this requirement.

* Although meals are not included on Sundays, volunteers can use the kitchen at their homestay for cooking their own meals.
ENROLLMENT STEPS
1. Submit our online application form
2. Within 24 hours (Mon - Fri) you will receive our Information Packet containing information regarding your choosen program, location, starting dates and the General Inscription Fee payment details.
3. Upon received your General Inscription Fee you will be officially enrolled in our program then we will send your Volunteering Placement Details.
During all this process we will be very happy to answer all your questions and to supply your requests.
IMPORTANT
- The program cost
is due in cash on the first day of arrival, along with a photocopy of passport, travel insurance and emergency contact numbers.
- At your host family's choice they may take you on excursions to local tourist sites and places of interest on the weekends. All costs for excursions are not included.
- You must have current travel insurance and personal expenses in keeping with our policy.

SPANISH LESSONS
Optionally volunteers can arrange Spanish lessons through Awaiting Angels.
Lessons are given in an one-on-one scheme by an experienced private teacher.

Details
- A member of our organization will meet you upon your arrival at the airport or bus station.
- Transfer to and from the hotel to and from airport/bus station.
