What you will get for the program fee

Food: The program fee covers three daily local meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Monday to Saturday.

 
Accommodation: Volunteers will stay with a host family in a  single or shared room (depending on availability).

Pick up: With Lima city exception pick up from the bus terminal or the airport is included in all other locations.

Support of local coordinator: From the very beginning to the end of the project, Awaiting Angels coordinator will help volunteers by supporting them and regularly visiting them.

Information Packet: Awaiting Angels offers detailed information on issues that will concern volunteers, such as health, safety, and cultural shock.

Orientation: Upon arrival in your location, participants are met at the airport or bus station and taken to the home of their host family. There you will receive an orientation that will familiarize you with the local area, the Peruvian culture, and your program.

Pre paid cell phone: Pisco only.

Certificate of Completion: Upon completion of your respective service project will receive a certificate illustrating your contributed time.

Free Spanish lessons: Arequipa only.

What does not the program fee cover?

Airfare (International and Domestic)

Bus trips
Visa and Visa extension fee

Lima airport pick up
Airport taxes
Any personal expenses on food and travel
Mineral water and soft drinks
Gifts to project staffs and host family
Laundry
Telephone
Immunization
Any expenses outside of the program, including travel insurance.


* On Sundays the volunteer can use the kitchen for preparing meals, another common option is going out with other volunteers or local friends to have meals in tourist places. It's very common that local friends invite volunteers to visit their homes for lunching or having dinner on Sundays


IMPORTANT

Teaching materials, medical equipments, etc. should be collected and carried by volunteers from their home countries.


ATTENTION

- All prices mentioned in this website are US Dollars.

- A USD 100.00 deposit is required to secure a place in our program and should be paid after you receive the Information packet.

- At your host family's choice they may take you on excursions to local tourist sites and places of interest on the weekends. All costs for excursions are not included.

- You must have current travel insurance and personal expenses in keeping with our policy.

- Program fee balance is due on the first day of arrival, along with photocopying of passport, travel insurance and emergency contact numbers.

SPANISH LESSONS
Optionally volunteers can arrange Spanish lessons through Awaiting Angels.

Lessons are given in an one-on-one scheme by an experienced private teacher.
