Why pay to volunteer?
Most people are surprised to hear that they would have to pay to volunteer abroad. What they often do not realize is that there are significant administrative costs involved to arrange a worthwhile volunteer placement. Awaiting Angels is not supported by any government funding and runs its programs entirely from the fee that volunteers pay to take part in the volunteer programs. Volunteering involves incurring of many costs such as food, accommodation, communications, in country support, transfers, project selection and development, etc. The program fee charged by us, goes into providing you all these services.

Where do program fees go?
We are continually working hard to provide the best service possible and keep our fees low. The chart below describes how our program fees are allocated.
What is included in the program fee?
Volunteer Program: High quality volunteer program in Peruvian grassroots organizations.
Family like accommodation: Either in a homestay accommodation or in our volunteer residence, participants stay in a safe, cozy family environ.
Three meals a day: Three daily Peruvian meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Monday to Saturday.
Pick up: With Lima city exception picks up from the bus terminal or the airport is included.

Support of local coordinator: From the very beginning to the end of the project, Awaiting Angels coordinator will help volunteers by supporting them and regularly visiting them.
Volunteer Information Pack: Awaiting Angels offers detailed information on issues that will concern volunteers, such as health, safety, and cultural shock.
Orientation: Upon arrival in your location, participants are met at the airport or bus station and taken to the home of their host family. There you will receive an orientation that will familiarize you with the local area, the Peruvian culture, and your program.
Incoming phone calls: The participant receives phone calls from relatives and friends at no cost.
What is not included in the program fee?
VERY IMPORTANT
Teaching materials, medical equipments, etc. must be collected and carried by volunteers from their home countries. Our coordinators will provide detailed information about this requirement.

* Although meals are not included on Sundays, volunteers are allowed to use the kitchen for cooking their own meals.

SPANISH LESSONS:
Optionally volunteers can arrange Spanish lessons through Awaiting Angels.
Lessons are given in a one-on-one scheme by an experienced private teacher.

Details
- A member of our organization will meet you upon your arrival at the airport or bus station.
- Transfer to and from the hotel to and from airport/bus station.
