Indigenous communities are settling in large territories respecting and living in close relationship with nature.
Nowadays new risks are endangering their pristine world.
Oil prospectors, loggers, coca farmers, private inns are depleting or privatizing their territories.
Volunteers will help indigenous communities to run conservation programs.
This volunteer opportunity is for groups of minimum 5 people.
What kind of skills and conditions do I need?
The jungle is not for people with strong allergies.
This position is for people resolved to live in the Peruvian Amazonia where basic living conditions applies. Local food is only available, the community lack of electricity, TV signal and Internet, however satellital telephone is available. Houses are equipped with running water and toilet.
Volunteers should enjoy being outdoors, have an interest in manual labour and should not be afraid to get dirty. This will be an unforgetable experience where some hard physical work is requiered.
Your role as a volunteer
Your role is varied and extremely interesting; you will be preserving wildlife and plants, and maintaining trails for tourism.
You will be helping to prepare material (in English) which will help tourists and visitors understand their milieu, and the importance of conservation.
You will be helping with educational programs and the preservation of forest and local culture.
Working Hours:
Schedules and duties vary day to day, however may involve full working days.
